Our Doctor

Dr. Nathan Ecklund, lives in Templeton and is a San Luis Obispo native. He grew up in the community and graduated from San Luis Obispo High School in 1993. He then went on to Cal Poly State University where he played quarterback on the football team while earning a bachelors degree in biology.
After graduating from Cal Poly, Dr. Ecklund enrolled in the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco and earned his doctorate in podiatric medicine in 2004. Upon completion of his medical school, he entered a 3 year podiatric surgical residency located at St. Mary's Medical Center in San Francisco. His 3 year training program gave him the opportunity to work side by side with some of the most recognized podiatrists in the country. Dr. Ecklund finished his residency program in July of 2007 and returned to the Central Coast to start his practice. 
Dr. Ecklund is trained in all aspects of podiatric surgery including foot and ankle fracture repair, diabetic limb salvage, ankle arthroscopy, forefoot surgery, diabetic wound care, sports medicine, and all aspects of podiatric medical management.
In his spare time Dr. Ecklund enjoys taking advantage of all the activities the Central Coast has to offer including mountain biking, surfing, and hiking. He also enjoys the time spent with his three children. Dr. Ecklund is ecstatic about practicing in San Luis Obispo County and to be serving the communities in which he grew up.
